Description

We will examine particular trades, habits, customs, social issues, and traditions that have made Florence a center for Western culture and civilization. We will study how people work today and how they worked centuries ago, trying to note and identify the differences and similarities, keeping in mind the character and nature of Florentines, always inclined to irony, sarcasm, humor, and witty criticism.
This is an experiential learning course taught in English and partially at an appropriate level of Italian.
