NECA was founded…

to provide university students a quality study abroad program in Florence, Italy, that meets U.S. university academic standards, and is committed to providing students individual attention in a friendly, international atmosphere that enables students to study and experience Italian culture firsthand. The goal of NECA is to nourish students’ desire for learning and to enrich their university studies with a new dimension.

dedicated to a high level of instruction with a qualified international teaching staff that encourages students to make the most of their study experience abroad. Courses at NECA have an Interdisciplinary Approach that foster a widened viewpoint and are based on Experiential Learning. All courses are designed to stimulate students’ interests and to challenge their way of thinking.

FLORENCE FOR STUDY ABROAD

Located in the valley of the Arno River, Florence is the capital the Tuscany region. It is home to some of the greatest artistic and architectural monuments, making it a world capital of learning, art, and culture.

    The artistic, cultural, and historical patrimony of Florence has had an overwhelming impact on Western civilization. The entire historical center of the city has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

OUR VALUES

Courses at NECA have an interdisciplinary approach that fosters a widened viewpoint based on experiential learning. Students are encouraged to take a step out of their own culture and environment and to see things from a new perspective to develop a deeper understanding of their world and themselves in an international environment.

As an academic program with a highly-qualified teaching staff, NECA offers upper division courses in many fields of study allowing students to fulfill degree requirements while abroad.

Customized programs and courses can be designed to fulfill students’ requirements. NECA also offers Directed Study/Individualized Programs.

NECA gladly welcomes the opportunity to develop unique and specialized study abroad opportunities together with U.S. university administrators and faculty. Universities and Colleges can submit their proposal for a customized year, semester, winter term, spring break term, or summer program.

NECA’s experienced staff provides personalized student assistance, centrally located academic facilities, cultural events and activities, orientation, and help with other logistical needs. Before enrollment NECA provides students with pre-departure academic advising and pre-departure travel counseling. Upon enrollment NECA staff can assist students with further requirements and insurance.
