Students enrolled in the NECA Semester Program can choose up to 5 courses, thus earning 15 U.S. credits. It is possible to choose a 6th course, for a total of 18 credits, at an additional cost. It is possible to earn up to 20 credits with Italian language courses. Students should choose a second choice of courses in case one or more courses may not be available.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE FALL SEMESTER

September 10 – December 6

The definite schedule is given to students at the Orientation Program in Florence. 

Below please find a tentative schedule of a Fall semester, that is updated year after year. This is just an example of a possible schedule. Contact NECA before purchasing the flight ticket, so we will tell you which is the 1st night included in the program cost and which is the day of departure.

Morning excursion to the open-air market at Cascine Park

Sept 21:
Full-day excursion to the Tuscan town of Pisa

Cooking class and dinner

Oct 12:
Full-day excursion to the Medieval Tuscan town of Siena

Oct 14 – Oct 18 (inclusive):
Reviews and Midterm exams

Fall Break (classes will not meet)

Classes resume

Additional excursion (to be decided with the students)

Full-day excursion to the Tuscan town of Greve in Chianti, in the heart of the Chianti area with typical Chianti lunch

Educational guided tour and dinner at a restaurant

Thanksgiving Holidays (classes will not meet)

Dates of excursions may be modified due to logistical factors, transportation strikes, etc.

Additional excursions may be added depending on students’ interest.

The school opens on September 11 and closes on December 5.

Note: The facilities will be closed on weekends and on days with no classes, unless otherwise specified.
